Lilly Maids

Weekly vs Biweekly House Cleaning: What a Year Really Costs

Weekly cleaning has the lowest price per visit but the highest yearly bill, because you pay for 52 visits instead of 26. For a home up to 1,999 sq ft, the first year with Lilly Maids costs $9,757 weekly, $5,170 every other week and $2,860 every 4 weeks. Every other week is a common middle ground, and the sections below show the math so you can check it for your own square footage.

Weekly and biweekly cleaning price per visit

Every schedule starts from the same standard price, which depends only on the square footage of your home. Weekly visits are 15% off that price, every-other-week visits are 10% off, and visits every 4 weeks are charged the full one-time price. Bedrooms and bathrooms do not change anything, and the price is the same in every city we serve.

One detail matters for the first year. Since October 15, 2026, the first visit of a weekly or every-other-week schedule is charged at the one-time price, and the discount starts with the second visit. On our booking form on October 25, 2026, an every-other-week standard clean for a 1,500 to 1,999 sq ft home showed a total of $220 for the first visit and a recurring total of $198 after that.

  • Up to 1,999 sq ft: $220 one time or every 4 weeks, $198 every other week, $187 weekly
  • 2,000 to 2,499 sq ft: $275 one time or every 4 weeks, $247.50 every other week, $233.75 weekly
  • 2,500 to 2,999 sq ft: $330 one time or every 4 weeks, $297 every other week, $280.50 weekly

How many cleanings are in a year on each schedule?

A year has 52 weeks, so a weekly schedule means 52 visits, every other week means 26 visits, and every 4 weeks means 13 visits. Every 4 weeks is not quite the same as once a month: it adds up to 13 visits a year, not 12, because the visit date moves a few days earlier each month.

To get the first-year cost of a weekly or every-other-week plan, take one visit at the full price and add the remaining visits at the discounted price. Every 4 weeks has no discount, so it is simply 13 times the full price. From the second year on, as long as the schedule keeps running, every visit is at the discounted price.

Yearly cost for a home up to 1,999 sq ft

This band covers many condos, townhouses and smaller single-family homes. The standard price is $220.

  • Weekly, first year: $220 + 51 x $187 = $9,757
  • Weekly, each year after: 52 x $187 = $9,724
  • Every other week, first year: $220 + 25 x $198 = $5,170
  • Every other week, each year after: 26 x $198 = $5,148
  • Every 4 weeks, every year: 13 x $220 = $2,860

Yearly cost for a 2,000 to 2,499 sq ft home

Here the standard price is $275, and the discounts produce prices with cents. The booking form charges those exact cents, so the totals below are exact too.

  • Weekly, first year: $275 + 51 x $233.75 = $12,196.25
  • Weekly, each year after: 52 x $233.75 = $12,155
  • Every other week, first year: $275 + 25 x $247.50 = $6,462.50
  • Every other week, each year after: 26 x $247.50 = $6,435
  • Every 4 weeks, every year: 13 x $275 = $3,575

Is weekly cleaning cheaper than biweekly?

Weekly cleaning is cheaper per visit but more expensive per year. A weekly visit for a home up to 1,999 sq ft costs $11 less than an every-other-week visit ($187 against $198), but you book twice as many of them. In the first year the weekly plan costs $4,587 more than every other week ($9,757 against $5,170), and from the second year the gap is $4,576.

What the discount does is lower the cost of each extra visit. If that same home booked 52 visits at the one-time price of $220, the year would cost $11,440. The weekly plan saves $1,683 of that in the first year and $1,716 in each year after. Every other week saves $550 against 26 full-price visits in the first year and $572 after that. For a 2,000 to 2,499 sq ft home, the weekly plan costs $5,733.75 more than every other week in the first year and $5,720 more in each year after.

Is monthly cleaning worth it?

Every 4 weeks is the cheapest plan per year: $2,860 for a home up to 1,999 sq ft and $3,575 for a 2,000 to 2,499 sq ft home. That is $2,310 and $2,887.50 less than every other week in the first year. The trade is that you pay the full price on every visit, and the house goes four weeks between cleanings instead of two.

A recurring visit is a standard clean of the kitchen, bathrooms, dusting, surfaces, floors and trash; grout scrubbing and the areas behind furniture belong to a deep clean. After four weeks there is more soap film, more dust on ledges and more grime on the kitchen floor, so the same visit has more to catch up on. If you want a little more on a longer gap, baseboards are $25 and ceiling fans are $10 per fan as extras on a standard clean.

How often should I get my house cleaned?

There is no single right answer, but how the home is used points to one. Think about how quickly the kitchen and bathrooms look used again after a cleaning, and pick the schedule that catches them before they slip too far.

  • Weekly fits homes with young kids, pets that shed, several people working from home, or a kitchen that is cooked in every day
  • Every other week fits households where one person or a couple keeps up with dishes and clutter between visits
  • Every 4 weeks fits light use, such as one or two adults who are out most of the day
  • If you are unsure, start every other week and change the frequency once you see how the home looks on day 14

Should the first visit be a deep clean?

If the home has not been professionally cleaned in a while, yes. A deep clean reaches the detail a routine visit leaves for later, such as the baseboards, the fan blades, the blinds and window tracks, and the grout in the shower.

The yearly totals above do not include a deep clean, which is charged at the deep price: $440 for a 1,500 to 1,999 sq ft home or $550 for a 2,000 to 2,499 sq ft home. Ask when booking how the first deep clean and the schedule line up. For a home that was cleaned well recently, a standard first visit is often enough.

Can I change my cleaning frequency?

Yes, you can change the frequency, for example from every other week to weekly once you see how the house holds up. Rescheduling is free if you tell us by the day before the visit, and a late cancellation is $50. We are closed on Sunday.

We clean homes in Tampa (including Tampa Palms and New Tampa), Temple Terrace, Wesley Chapel, Lutz, Land O' Lakes, Zephyrhills and Thonotosassa. Amazing work! I didn’t move in as a new tenant, so I inherited someone else’s mess and never had a deep clean. Turned my depressing apartment into a place that I actually want to spend time. I’ve just become a regular customer!! 10 out of 10 would recommend!

This is THE BEST PLACE!! I found them to be affordable, so sweet and I needed them last minute for a move out and they were able to make it happen. My place that I just moved out of literally looks like someone can literally move right in. The cleaners that were used were not overbearing at all. Our lady was sooooo freakin sweet. I will definitely be booking again for my new place for just a monthly maintenance cleaning. Thank you ladies, you guys are the best!!!

Common questions

What does biweekly cleaning cost over a year?

For a home up to 1,999 sq ft, the first year every other week is $220 + 25 x $198 = $5,170, and each year after is $5,148. For 2,000 to 2,499 sq ft it is $6,462.50 in the first year and $6,435 after that.

Why is my first recurring visit more expensive?

Since October 15, 2026, the first visit of a weekly or every-other-week schedule is charged at the one-time price. The 15% or 10% discount applies from the second visit on.

Do you give a discount for monthly cleaning?

No, visits every 4 weeks are charged the same as a one-time clean, for example $220 for a home up to 1,999 sq ft. Only weekly (15% off) and every-other-week (10% off) schedules are discounted.

Does a bigger family pay more for weekly cleaning?

Not because of the number of people, bedrooms or bathrooms. The price depends only on square footage and the schedule you choose.

Is every 4 weeks the same as once a month?

It is close to monthly, but every 4 weeks gives 13 visits a year instead of 12, so a home up to 1,999 sq ft pays 13 x $220 = $2,860 a year.
